The Commission on Equity and Opportunity recognizes the need for the African-American, Asian Pacific American and the Latino and Puerto Rican populations in the state of Connecticut to gain an equal share and to become equal participants in the legislative process. The Commission on Equity and Opportunity will inform public policy and involve traditionally underserved populations in the legislative process.   In this upcoming legislative session, the Commission will focus on education, economic security and criminal justice in achieving its underlying mission. The Commission will meet with legislators and submit written and verbal testimony in support of priority legislation at state legislative hearings.
